WhatsApp Groups

Thank you for requesting to join our Santorini Estate owners' groups.

Located at Shaka's Rock, Ballito, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa

Please take a few minutes to read the rules before joining us.

We have two WhatsApp groups

Santorini Emergencies

Open to all Santorini owners, long-term tenants and their families.

Strictly only for posting emergencies: power outages, water cuts, lost children, thefts, security issues, fires, burst pipes, strikes, traffic issues and other urgent emergencies.

Santorini Shaka's Rock

Only open to Santorini homeowners and their life partners, and not those receiving remuneration from Santorini.

Our Community

As neighbours in our little piece of paradise on the shores of the Indian Ocean, we share common concerns - so let's discuss them.

Be part of our community and get to know your neighbours, who feel privileged to own a little villa on the cliffs above the ocean, most of whom are passionate about the beach lifestyle.

General Rules of Engagement

Be Kind and Courteous

We are neighbours and friends. Let's create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

No Hate Speech or Bullying

Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

No Adverts or Spam

Give more than you take to this group.

Adverts, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed.

Respect Everyone's Privacy

Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group must stay in the group.

Group Administration

To keep participation in our Santorini Owners' WhatsApp Groups a positive, friendly and helpful experience for all members as best as humanly possible, the Group Admin reserves the right to monitor the Groups according to these rules.

If you do not agree to these Rules, please exit the Groups immediately.

Specific Group Rules

Emergency Reporting

Please only report emergencies on the Santorini Emergencies group.

No need to give a thumbs up or give thanks. If you need to ask for more information on the emergency, that's okay.

Personal Responsibility

Members are 100% responsible for their own conduct and the content they post.

Permitted Advertising

In the owners group, you may advertise your personal second-hand items, or your unit for letting or for your private sale.

Prohibited Content

You may not post:

  • Offensive or vulgar language in comments or visuals,
  • Hateful or discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or political beliefs,
  • Links or comments containing sexually explicit content material,
  • Violations of copyright or intellectual property rights,
  • Spam, link baiting or files containing viruses that could damage the operation of other people's computers or mobile devices,
  • Attacks on specific groups or any comments meant to harass, threaten or abuse an individual and
  • Business adverts or any professional self-promotion.

No sharing of the turnstile codes or any access codes is allowed for security reasons.

If a member breaks any of these rules, that member will receive a warning. If a member continues to break the rules he or she will be removed from the group.

Community Guidelines

Mutual Respect

Please treat all opinions with mutual respect, like you would in your neighbour's home.

Add Value

When you comment, please try to add value to the discussion or conversation. Be friendly, be fair.

Report Crime

Report any crime or suspicious behaviour to the Group and to Santorini Security at +27 87 711 0970. We need to look out for each other.

Maintenance Issues

Report maintenance issues by email to the Estate Manager and email a copy to the Managing Agent, Kim Rom of Accumin.

Noise Disturbances

Report any noise disturbances (especially after 10 pm) to Santorini Security.

Quiet Hours

Please try to end conversations in the discussion group by 9 pm South African time.

Best Practices for Participation

Content Guidelines

  • Please do not post irrelevant content. If you are not sure about the content you want to post, private message the Group Admin.
  • Please respect the privacy of the members of the group. Do not share personal info without the okay of that person.
  • Please do not forward posts of members of the discussion group outside the Group without that member's okay. We wish to create a safe space for discussion and the exchange of ideas.

Engagement Encouragement

  • Feel free to start the conversation, ask questions or ask others for their opinion of your suggestion or concern.
  • Solve problems, help each other out. We are neighbours. Share your positive experiences.

Group Admin Disclaimer

The opinions expressed by members on both of the Santorini Shaka's Rock WhatsApp Groups ("the Groups") are the contributor's own and do not reflect the views of the Group Admin.

The Group Admin reserves the right to delete any member of any of the Groups for any reason whatsoever and delete any message that does not comply with our rules or that is deemed inappropriate.

The messages in the Groups are the sole responsibility of the contributors and the contributors shall take full responsibility, liability, and blame for any libel or litigation that results from something written in or as a direct result of something written in a comment.

The Group Admin shall not be held responsible for misuse, reuse, recycle and cited and/or un-cited copies of content created by others in the Groups.

The Group Admin, in any way whatsoever, can not be responsible for your use of the information contained in or linked to from the Groups.

The Group Admin assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of the Groups.

The terms of this disclaimer are not negotiable and by remaining a member of the Groups you agree to such terms. If you do not agree please exit the Groups immediately.
